Brandon Bethea
Co-Founder & Partner
Mr. Bethea is a Co-Founder and Partner of Aterian Investment Partners and serves on the Investment Committee. Mr. Bethea has been a private equity investor since 2000. Prior to Aterian, he was a Principal with Insight Equity, an investment professional with Freeman Spogli & Co and began his career with Salomon Smith Barney’s investment banking division.
Since 2015, Mr. Bethea has also served on the Endowment Committee of Christ Church in Pelham, New York. Mr. Bethea received his AB from Harvard University where he was a member of the Varsity Men’s Tennis Team. Mr. Bethea also earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Brandon originally hails from Oklahoma and in another life would aspire to be the Sooners’ Offensive Coordinator.
Michael Fieldstone
Co-Founder & Partner
Mr. Fieldstone is a Partner at Aterian Investment Partners and serves on its Investment Committee. Mr. Fieldstone has been engaged in private equity investing for more than 20 years. Prior to founding Aterian in 2009, Mr. Fieldstone was a Principal at Sun Capital Partners involved with numerous investments including family/founder, corporate carve-out, restructuring and growth-oriented situations as well as a Principal at Apollo Management involved with the diligence, acquisitions and monitoring of investments. Mr. Fieldstone began his career at Salomon Smith Barney as a generalist in the Mergers and Acquisitions Investment Banking group.
Mr. Fieldstone received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Michael was born and raised in Miami, the home of the championship Miami Hurricane teams of the 1980s, and currently enjoys spending time with his family running after his two young kids.
Christopher Thomas
Co-Founder & Partner
Mr. Thomas is a Partner at Aterian Investment Partners and serves on the Investment Committee. Mr. Thomas has over 20 years of transaction and operation experience from growth specific opportunities to complex situations. Prior to Aterian, Mr. Thomas was a Principal at Sun Capital Partners focused primarily on chemical, industrial and consumer products in the public and private markets. Mr. Thomas began his career in the Investment Banking group at Oppenheimer in New York, where he executed various corporate transactions and financings.
Mr. Thomas graduated cum laude from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Hailing from Miami, Chris is likely to be found fishing with his wife and three young children, or tinkering on something in the backyard.
Joshua Ciampa
Principal
Mr. Ciampa is a Principal at Aterian Investment Partners involved in sourcing, transaction due diligence, and portfolio company activities. He has been a private equity investor since 2010 and prior to Aterian was an Investment Professional at First Atlantic Capital, where he was an active member of the firm’s packaging, industrials, and business services investments. Mr. Ciampa spent 5 years at GE Capital in the Sponsor Finance and Antares lending platforms, and completed GE’s Financial Management Program.
Mr. Ciampa graduated cum laude from Boston University with a BS in Business Administration and a BA in Philosophy, and earned an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Daniel Krasnow
Principal
Mr. Krasnow is a Principal at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Mr. Krasnow was most recently an Analyst in the Industrials group at Wells Fargo Securities. While at Wells Fargo, Mr. Krasnow focused on a broad range of advisory assignments across the chemicals and metals spaces.
Mr. Krasnow received a B.A. in Political Economy and China Asia Studies from Cornell University. Mr. Krasnow is an avid Chicago Cubs fan and dressed up as a Cubby more than once for Halloween while growing up.
Daniel Phan
Principal
Mr. Phan is a Principal at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to joining, Mr. Phan was at Corporate Partners LLC (formerly known as Lazard Alternative Investments), a middle market private equity firm focused on minority equity, structured capital, and buyouts across industries. Mr. Phan began his career as an investment banking analyst in the Technology, Media & Telecom group at Deutsche Bank.
Mr. Phan received a B.A in Economics from Duke University, with a certificate in Markets and Management studies. Originally hailing from New Jersey, in his free time Daniel enjoys golfing, for which he has the unique talent of making it both a leisure activity as well as a high-cardio workout from excessive swings and long scenic walks through the rough.
Jorge Fabre
Vice President
Mr. Fabre is a Vice President at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Mr. Fabre was most recently an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Wells Fargo Securities. While at Wells Fargo, Mr. Fabre focused on a broad range of advisory assignments across various industries.
Mr. Fabre received a B.S. in Finance from the Warrington School of Business at the University of Florida. Jorge is a Dominican Republic native who grew up in Central Florida, unfortunately making him an Orlando Magic fan.
Brian Moore
Vice President
Mr. Moore is a Vice President at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Mr. Moore was previously an Analyst in the Financial Sponsors Group at Deutsche Bank.
He received his BS in Economics from Duke University with a Finance Concentration and earned an MA in Economics from Duke University with a concentration in applied financial economics. Originally joining the Aterian team in New York, Mr. Moore is now based in Aterian’s Florida office. In his free time, Brian enjoys spending time with his daughter and is grateful Grandma lives nearby.
Daniel Corbett
Senior Associate
Mr. Corbett is a Senior Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Daniel was most recently a Senior Analyst in the Diversified Industries group at Stifel, primarily focused on a broad range of advisory assignments across the Diversified Industrials, Infrastructure Services, and Electronics & Industrial Technology space.
Daniel received his B.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University where he was a member of the Varsity Men’s Basketball team. In his spare time, Daniel enjoys re-living his glory days on the West 4th basketball courts and refueling at NYC’s best ramen spot, Menkoi Sato (not sponsored).
Charley Liu
Senior Associate
Mr. Liu is a Senior Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Charley was most recently an Associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. where he worked on a broad range of advisory assignments across Healthcare Services, Rental Services, and Consumer Products space.
Charley received a B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from Northwestern University and a M.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia. Despite growing up in New York, Mr. Liu has come to enjoy watching his adopted Miami NBA and NFL teams thrive.
Daniel Azran
Associate
Mr. Azran is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Danny was most recently an Investment Banking Analyst at Deloitte Corporate Finance, where he focused on executing M&A transactions across a variety of industries.
Danny received a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University. In his free time, Danny enjoys watching reruns of Lakers’ NBA championship wins and eating authentic Cuban food in Miami.
Karan Das-Grande
Associate
Mr. Das-Grande is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Mr. Das-Grande was most recently an Analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Wells Fargo Securities. While at Wells Fargo, Mr. Das-Grande focused on a broad range of advisory assignments across various industries.
Karan received a B.A. in Economics from Connecticut College. Karan is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Spain and has a strong preference for jamón ibérico over prosciutto.
Tim Dubis
Associate
Mr. Dubis is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Prior to joining Aterian, Mr. Dubis was most recently an Investment Banking Analyst at Lincoln International, where he focused on executing M&A transactions across the Industrials sector. Prior to his time with Lincoln’s Industrials Group, Mr. Dubis worked as an Associate in KPMG’s Deal Advisory Group, where he focused on conducting quality of earnings analyses for private equity clients.
Mr. Dubis graduated from Miami University Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in both Finance and Accounting. A St. Louis native, Mr. Dubis remains a loyal St. Louis Cardinal and Blues fan despite spending his recent years in Chicago and New York.
Alex Youngwall
Associate
Mr. Youngwall is an Associate at Aterian Investment Partners assisting in the due diligence, underwriting and portfolio management activities of the firm. Mr. Youngwall was most recently an Analyst in the Industrials group at Wells Fargo Securities. While at Wells Fargo, Mr. Youngwall focused on a broad range of advisory assignments across the chemicals and metals spaces.
Alex received a B.S. in Business Management from Babson College. A Long Island native, Alex enjoys frequent visits home where he spends time playing lacrosse with his brothers and going on hikes with his dog.
